Texture underhand

Run your hand over a swatch, do not just look at it. Smooth fabrics read as formal. Nubbly and looped read as casual and inviting. Deep pile reads as luxurious and shows every mark of use.

Breathability

Leather and tight synthetics do not breathe, which is why you stick to them in summer. Natural fibres and open weaves do. If a chair will be sat in for hours in a warm room, this is worth more than the appearance.
